OPTICAL reading | AUTOMATIC Data-mining

from passive documents

The application platform nFlow allows to improve the efficiency of the goods receiving process, which is often managed manually and switch to a “paper-less” model, which allows to automate and standardize the operative process so to make the procedure more rapid and accurate

Gathering

In the first phase
the paper shipping notes
received by the carrier
are gathered and digitized
using any scanner for documents.
All the digitized documents
are saved in a specific folder
of the NFlow server

Processing

The digitized documents
are automatically processed
in order to extract and make
the needed information available
(eg.: date and doc number,
supplier code, product codes
and lots, quantities…).
All data are saved in the
nFlow server DB

Checking

The extracted information
is then compared with the data
on the supplier’s order,
which was formerly produced,
in order to find possible
inconsistencies.
In this case the nFlow server
allows to generate alerts

Handling

The receiving operators
use mobile devices to “tick”
the parcels present on the
pallet without requiring
paper documents.
At the end of the receiving
process, the nFlow server sends
the carried-out operation
to the client’s data system

Characteristics and advantages

Web services 'ready-go'

Simple connection to the
client’s data systems

Time reduction

to stock the material

Decrease in ticking off mistakes

and material counting.
100 % paperless task

Paperless Management

Processing documents
in advance allows to get
the information without
the use of paper

100% accuracy

in the automatic control
of passive documents
(shipping notes, invoices…)

KPI and SLA monitoring

per single logistic
resource or supplier

Data cross-checking

The previous data capture
of shipping notes and
relative orders allow to
have a real-time control
of the received goods

No visual control

and hand notes
on paper documents

Automatic receiving of shipping notes

via email, file transfer
or other format agreed
with the suppliers

Use of mobile devices

All the check and tick off
tasks are transmitted by
mobile devices in wi-fi frequency

Improved efficiency of the logistic resources

in the checking, receiving
and stocking phases

Cancellation of the data-entry activities

the automatic data capture
and mining allows to reduce
the resources who were formerly
dedicated to storing passive documents
