The service allows to associate the domain name of the client to a definite number of individual mailboxes with the set quotas.
The mailboxes are reachable through an electronic mail client which is able to query the server POP3/IMAP (OutLook Express, Outlook, Eudora, etc).
The WEB MAIL access allows the user to connect with the mailboxes via web and to choose different functionalities:
a) Send/receive mail
b) Create and manage the individual folders
c) Manage the password
d) Manage the address book
e) Manage the signature
f) Autoresponder/Holiday Message
g) Automatic forward
h) Mailing Lists
Administration
This service allows also POSTMASTER users to manage all the mail accounts in the domain that they control with possibility of cancelling, changing or adding new ones up to the assigned quotas.
This allows a total outsourcing of email services while maintaining the control from the administrative point of view.
Antispam/Antivirus
ANTISPAM
The ANTISPAM system works through a system of email-oriented content filtering which analyzes the transiting mail addressed to the email accounts of the specified domain through a series of filters which detect the presence of “SPAM”: emails sent in bulk to casual or semi-casual accounts and whose presence is not pleased by the receivers.
All the system works server side (alfaproject.net) and the no software configuration or installation is required by the final users of the email service provided by Alfaproject.net.
Emails are analyzed with a series of filters which control their content and determine if they have to be rejected or if they can be forwarded on the basis of keywords, header’s format, the sender’s IP and the presence of this IP in the RBL (Real Time Blacklists).
ANTIVIRUS
The antivirus system analyzes the transiting email directed to the accounts of the specified domain through a series of filters which detect the presence of viruses.
All the operations are done email server (Alfaproject.net S.r.l.) and the final users’ client systems are not involved.
