O3B Remote Backup is the offsite and centralised backup service of data on storage systems which are located at Alfaproject.net’s Server Farm through the use of Computer Associates’ software technologies.

O3B offers the possibility to use the data backup and restore system without being provided with the technological infrastructures, the software and the skills which are needed to implement this important defence against possible damage to one’s own hardware and software.

O3B is addressed to those enterprises which, following the logic of cutting costs for the protection of their own data and respecting the new regulations about the protection of personal data (law 196/2003) and ISO 17799 standards concerning the security of information, are prone to implement or duplicate their procedures for the protection of data through an offsite backup service.

O3B allows to cut the costs for an internal backup infrastructure and offers the advantages of a secure, scalable, trustable service, which is completely managed by state-of-the-art technologies.

Backup procedures are automatic and operate by compressing and ciphering the data sent to the remote storage systems using the corporate Internet connection with broad bandwidth and need no further hardware or infrastructure.

Data restoring occurs with the reverse method: decrypting and decompression and is always accessible to the user.
The most common applications and platforms are supported, including Windows, NetWare, Linux, Mac OS X, AS 400 and VMS.
