Milan, 21 June 2021 – CLS continues the strategic development of its CLS iMation business unit dedicated to automation, through the acquisition of Alfaproject.net, a company specialized in the optimization and digitalization of operating processes for manufacturing companies, in an effort to optimize processes and reduce costs.
CLS and Alfaproject.net are both committed to aiding the digitalization of production and logistics processes and the implementation of automation technologies through innovative solutions, by relying on a consulting approach focused on engineering, allowing to support customers in their efficiency enhancement and technological innovation processes.
In pursuing a far-reaching strategy to help modernize industrial activities, CLS strives to create an ecosystem that allows customers to design the digitalization of their intralogistics flows as a first fundamental step towards automation.
“In the context of industrial creation and production, factories are highly advanced and have often reached the maximum level of modernization for these activities, while they must still grow and innovate in terms of logistics organization, by focusing on the connection of work stations,” explains Michele Calabrese, iMation Business Unit Manager. “In developing a new comprehensive offer for automated intralogistics, CLS is aware of the fact that customers do not simply require machines, but they have specific needs involving the interaction between the machines and the systems that coordinate their operation through the various devices to generate value. This inspired us to create a flexible, modular and scalable ecosystem, and the Alfaproject.net solutions are a step in this direction”.
Alfaproject.net offers innovative software solutions that can be used to manage production, logistics, quality and maintenance processes in an integrated and paperless way to boost efficiency and transform the plant into a digital Smart Factory.
The industrial project involves the full integration between the application solutions of Alfaproject.net and CLS iMation automation systems (AGVs, IGVs, robot systems, automatic warehouses, palletization and depalletization systems, etc.), so that machines and operators can cooperate in a synchronized and safe manner by following a strategy geared towards maximizing flexibility, scalability and modularity.
The LOG iN application suite by Alfaproject.net can be used to implement a progressive digitalization system integrated with the information systems used within the company. More specifically:
– LOG iN – WMS: The ideal WMS (Warehouse Management System) for implementing a digital and LEAN logistics process. An innovative and efficient model for managing operational activities in the warehouse and the traceability of materials.
– LOG iN – MOM: The Manufacturing Operations Management System that allows for integrated management of production, logistics, maintenance and quality processes, for an efficient production in line with the plant’s priorities.
– LOG iN – eKANBAN: The most advanced electronic kanban system. A comprehensive solution for the automation and monitoring of logistics processes and the servicing of production and assembly lines.
– LOG iN – MAINTENANCE: The ideal solution for digitalizing maintenance processes and after-sales activities and for improving their efficiency. Preventive and predictive maintenance and logistics management of spare parts allow to improve the efficiency of systems and plants within the factory.
“The integration between the digitalization of operating processes and automation technologies is the new frontier for the industrial sector, in order to attain the necessary level of efficiency for competing in the global market. This is why we chose to integrate two leading companies in their sector that share a common engineering-oriented and innovative approach,” declared Alessandro Dandolo, managing director and co-founder of Alfaproject.net. “At CLS we have found a competent partner with a distinctive vision, ideal for ensuring that Alfaproject.net can express its full potential and expand on the Italian and international markets to become a reference in the industrial sector for the optimization and digitalization of operating processes through innovative technological solutions”.
“We are proud of the Alfaproject.net acquisition and of the excellent level of cooperation that we have managed to establish between the two companies. Moreover, we believe that this perfectly integrates into the development project of the CLS iMation Business Unit. We have the ambitious goal of generating value for our customers through an intelligent use of technological innovation. We firmly believe that we can offer increasingly safe, controlled and highly efficient work environments. CLS and Alfaproject.net will be able to provide integrated turnkey solutions to its customers, while helping them to seize all the opportunities that technology can offer. This collaboration is a crucial step in our overall growth strategy,” commented Paolo Vivani, the Managing Director of CLS.
CLS was assisted in its M&A activities by Movent Capital Advisors, in the person of the partner Alberto Franchino, and for the legal activities by a team of Orrick Italia lawyers headed by the partner Guido Testa.
Alfaproject.net‘s partners were assisted by the Balestrazzi-Tiberio & Associati legal firm, in the person of the partner Daniele Tiberio.
